I decided to rank the gifts and toys Amelia got for her first Birthday in her order of preference. You WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HER FAVORITE WAS! Toddlers always surprise us don’t they! Here is my list!
- Hair Clips – yep probably the cheapest thing I bought her but she loves them. Mind you she does not have much hair yet but she loves me sliding them into her hair. She also loves to chew on them (I have to remember and take them out when she goes for her naps).

The Fisher Price Laugh Learn Cookie Shape Surprise was one of the cool top Birthday gifts for 1 year old girl I bought my daughter Amelia. I had been impressed watching her friend push the correct shapes through the cookie jar and realised it was something I needed to teach Amelia.
She was given the Fisher Price Laugh Learn Cookie shape surprise when she was 12 months and within a few weeks we had taught her to put different shapes through the correct slot. My husband initially started with the easier, more familiar shapes like the circle and triangle. He would push the shape halfway through the slot and get Amelia to push it the remainder of the way. Whenever she did this we would clap and tell her she was a clever girl. In time she started clapping after too!!
At the age of 13 months she now picks up the shapes and tries to put them through herself. When she struggles to do so she points to the opening and we help her. I know in a few weeks time she will be able to master this herself.
I think this is one of the fabulous Fisher Price toys for girls and boys as it teaches fine motor control and shape recognition.
Whenever Amelia is not pushing shapes through the openings she is emptying the cookie jar and filling it up again with her smaller toys. Definitely one of my favorite top birthday gifts for 1 year old girl.

My little girl loves tiny balls like those in a ball pit. We have a babies soft play area near us and Amelia loves going in the ball pit. She lies flat on top of the balls and sinks into them. Since she loves it so much I thought I would treat her to her own ball pit. This can be used both inside and outside. The balls do need to be bought separately so make sure you buy some or your little one will be disappointed!

Outdoor Toys for 1 Year Olds make awesome Birthday gifts for 1 year old girls
Amelia turns 1 in July so I am going to buy her some outdoor toys for 1 year olds. I love the Little Tikes Princess ride on toy. Her Grandma bought her the Little Tikes 4 1 trike for her Birthday. It is recommended for toddlers 18 months onwards but I know Amelia is tall for her age and advanced so this will be suitable for her. She will definately grow into it. I cannot wait to treat my little girl to her first swing and the pink one below is so cute and perfect for her!!
