I have only just heard about design and drill toys and I just had to feature them in my list of cool toys for 3 year old boys (by the way 4, 5 and 6 year old boys will love these too). These are awesome value for money and will make great Christmas and Birthday gifts! You could even take them on car journeys or flight travel! Hands up who wants to keep their little men busy and stimulated at the same time, ME for sure!

Wooden Train Sets for Kids
All little boys love wooden train sets for kids whether they feature firm favorite Thomas the Tank Engine or not. Jamie has an awesome wooden train set that sits on a large table in his bedroom. These provide endless hours of fun for boys and girls alike, as well as Dad! There are so many of these about with huge variations in price so I was extremely picky and selected the ones I felt were the best value for money including the Melissa Doug wooden train set.

An excellent starter train set is this one by Melissa Doug suitable for boys aged 3 and upwards.
It is a small set with 20 pieces of railway track including a bridge. There is a train with an attached coal car.
This also works with other Melissa Doug train sets.
While this is an excellent set I feel buying the 8 train set would add to the fun and excitement and mean two little boys or girls could play at the same time!
