What does the Fisher Price Ride Lion Do?

It does lots and lots and your baby/toddler will play differently depending on their stage of development. I can see this very clearly as I watch my 12 month old and 2 year old playing with this Fisher Price ride toy.

This adorable Fisher Price ride toy lets your toddler sit and ride around or stand and push. It comes with lots of stimulating features including a light up number buttons, movable lion’s mouth and four colored balls!

It is very easy to transform it from the sitting position to an upright position for pushing.

Amelia loves sitting on the back behind her baby Brother. She always says Mum I’m in the backseat! I love the fact that the seat while it looks small is still long enough for two small bums to sit on it.

Stage 1 – this is where my 12 month old Rhys is at. He sits upright beside the lion and pushes the buttons which responds with lights and music. I love sensory toys for infants as it is a great way to stimulate them! He loves flipping the butterfly and playing with the balls. He still needs help to put the balls into the lion’s mouth, whereas my 2 year old can master this. The love watching the balls fall out at the bottom (good cause and effect toy here)

Stage 2 – this is a push toy! I cannot wait until Rhys can walk and push his little lion about! My house is coming down with pink push toys (walkers, prams etc.) so this is the first unisex one we have! I think it will go down as one of the great walking toys for 1 year olds. The handle is stored under the seat and is easily accessible!

Stage 3 – The Fisher Price Stride Ride lion as the name suggests is a ride toy for sailing around in. My 2 year old can master this whereas my little boy cannot sit unattended on top of the lion, never mind ride around in it. He will grow and when he starts walking and his gross motor skills improve he will have so much fun!

If you read my website regularly you know I am about education and baby learning toys amongst other things! The Fisher Price stride lion is brilliant for helping babies and toddlers learn and grow!

My 1 year old loves pushing the light up buttons and flicking the butterfly back and forward! Great for sensory with the music, sounds and lights as well as both fine motor and gross motor skills.

As for my 2 year old it helps her learn her numbers (she can count to 8 now so we are spending lots of time hitting buttons 9 and 10 to try and help her learn these too).
