What Toys 3 Year Olds Like To Play With
Playdoh and Clay – we have lots of playdoh sets including the Playdoh Doctor Drill n Fill pack and Crazy Cuts! Amelia has recently started playing with clay at pre-school! Whilst it is messy it is a great way for Mum to get some quiet time!
Chalk – Amelia loves to write with chalk on her blackboard! She loves to pretend to be a teacher! For her third Birthday her Auntie bought her some sidewalk chalk and it was a massive hit! It came with stencils and holders and helps improve her fine motor skills and hand eye coordination as well as being lots of fun!!
Arts and crafts are certainly a massive hit at this age and it is at this time your pre-schooler should be starting to write and use scissors! Painting goes down well but I only let my little girl do this at nursery as it is so messy!
Pretend Play – where to start here!! I could list like 50 activities for 3 year old girls right now! My little girl loves pretend play! What do 3 year olds play with the most? It has to be playsets and tiny figures! I love listening to her talking to her My Little Pony and Sparkle Girl figures! She makes up little stories, her imagination is unreal for a three year old! Basically you can do pretend play with anything! Another one of our favorites is that involving the toy shopping cart. Of course these make fabulous gifts and toys for 3 year old girl!
Ride Toys – Amelia got a bike for her 3rd Birthday and while she is still trying to ride it, she loves taking it everywhere with her! I love encouraging my kids to play outdoors and be active so I am delighted she has taken to her bike.
Water Toys – I am a fan of the best backyard water toys as my pre-schooler and toddler spend ages with them! From water tables to sprinklers and watering cans they like them all! Boys and girls alike can spend hours galore knee deep in water!

Cars and Trucks – my three year old nephew loves everything cars, from push along ones to ones you race! He loves car garages and pretend petrol stations! Playing with racing tracks are one of his daily activities!
Character toys – there are so many to mention here but I will list some that my kids love! Amelia loves all her My Little Pony toys and playsets including Fluttershy cottage, Pinkie Pie bead set, Playskool Apple Barn, Rainbow Dash Playdoh set! She also loves Sparkle Girlz and recently got a castle and some Princesses for her Birthday. My nephew loves Thomas the Train playsets and tracks as well as PJ Masks figures and vehicles!
