Leapfrog Shapes Sharing Picnic Basket is Cool Baby Learning Toy
I had my eye on the Leapfrog Shapes Sharing Picnic Basket for Amelia since Christmas but decided Santa was bringing her enough toys so waited before purchasing. Every time I visited the supermarket I seen the Leapfrog picnic basket at the end of the toy eye. This weekend seen the start of a Spring sale for toys and guess what the Leapfrog Shapes and Sharing picnic basket was on promotion! Yep I got the opportunity to pick it up for a bargain price! I checked the price online too and Amazon were also offering this toy for cheap!
As you can see Amelia could not wait for us to open her Leapfrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic basket.
Leapfrog Picnic Basket Contents
Leapfrog shapes sharing picnic basket picture above lets you see everything that is included. Here is a summary of the Leapfrog picnic basket contents.
- Picnic Basket
- Picnic Mat
- Two large forks
- Two Drinking Cups
- Six different shaped food items which fit onto two plates
- Food items include strawberry, orange, cracker and cheese, sandwich, piece of cake and a cookie
The Leapfrog Shapes Sharing Picnic Basket is such a cute toy for baby and toddler girls.
It is suitable for babies as young as 6 months to kids of 3 years old.
Lifting either basket lid plays up to 30 tunes and encourages babies/toddlers to learn different shapes.
The food items are different shapes and fit into the spaces on the plates.
The pieces are all large enough and too big to choke on, which is good because Amelia constantly has them in her mouth.
The basket itself is light enough for a 8 month old baby to pick up and hold onto.
The items all fit nicely into the Leapfrog picnic basket for easy storage. This is handy and means you are less likely to lose any parts.
Lets all go for a picnic with the Leapfrog Shapes and Sharing Picnic Basket
I love the Leapfrog shapes and sharing picnic basket because it:-
- Helps develop fine motor skills as babies and toddlers pick up the food items and place them in the correct position on the plate.
- It teaches shapes as the Leapfrog Shapes sharing picnic basket asks you to find a food items of a certain shape, i.e. find a triangle
- It teaches different foods and colors
- It is great for pretend play and encourages toddlers to play together whilst sharing the food items
- It teaches manners
At 8 months old Amelia enjoys playing with this Leapfrog picnic basket. She is constantly flapping the lids open and closed. She loves putting the food pieces in her mouth and banging the drinking cups together. As she gets older she will interact with the toy much more! We might even take it on a family picnic with us sometime soon! It is one of the fabulous toys for 1 year old girl.
Leapfrog Picnic Basket is Still a Hit With My 2 Year Old
I thought I should update you on how Amelia still loves her Leapfrog Picnic Basket! She still carries it around with her and enjoys filling it with random toys and emptying it again. I would definitely recommend this as one of the most awesome toys for 1 year old girls and older! I would not be surprised if she is still playing with this toy when she is 3.
EDIT – Amelia still loves her picnic basket at age 3 as does her 18 month old Brother! She uses it to transport her baby unicorns and My Little Ponies! So while it is one of the best toys for 1 year old I would also recommend it for older toddlers!
